Default Tranny temp hack?

I don't think anyone has done this yet, but maybe one of the more ingenious guys on here can figure it out. Is there a way to hack the computer to show the tranny temp using the stock temp sender? Maybe using the OBD-II plug in? Will a good scan tool show this info?

Just a thought.

Are you familiar with a Scan Gauge II ? I have one and I love it. It will show the trans. temp IF the computer puts that info out the OBDII port. Some do, some don't.

I don't think the scan gauge software I use, Digimoto, does this (I'll have to check it again), but a lot of the things I really want and need I haven't been able to get. I do believe the very expensive (it's like $3,000 new) Toyota diagnostic scanner does do this.

It seems to me the older the vehicle, the less the amount of information put it out, but that's logical.
