Well, most of these adapters (Dice, Vais, etc) are spec'd to work with the 2002 and up but no mention of 1999-2001. Yes, you loose the CD changer if you want to do this.

Most, or all, are not spec'ed to work with 1999-2003 RX300 w/o NAV, as I recall. This doesn't count the recent product that is under development. Nobody has reported success with this type of product (on RX300 w/o NAV) over the years.

If your looking to get an ipod or aux input, take a look at the iSimple Tranzit (IS77). I recently installed that, and it works great. It charges the ipod as well. It's a FM modulator not to get mixed up with a FM transmitter. The modulator is hard-wired so there is absolutely no static, it sounds the exact same as a CD would.
If you would like pictures of how the setup looks let me know.

Interesting. Does it broadcast any song/artist/title data (RDS) or just the audio?

Just Audio, these radio's don't support title or any sort of text. I wish it did. The iSimple also outputs video but our radio's don't have an RCA video input.

Yes, I should clarify I meant the Audio System without Navigation does not give titles or song names.

The modulator is called the iSimple Tranzit IS77. It was extremely simple to install, you disconnect the antenna cable coming from the radio and plug it into the modulator. Then you take the antenna cable which is coming out of the modulator and plug it into the radio. Then you tap into the cigarette lighter for power. Now just put the power switch wherever you want. And also connect one of the two wires that are provided with the modulator, and move them to wherever you wish. The two wires that are included with the modulator are: the 3.5mm aux cable to rca, and they include a ipod cable. The ipod cable will charge the ipod as well. That's it your done.

I bought the modulator off of ebay for about $40. I saw one up for auction and sell for $20, but I had already bought this one. So, It's a great deal. OR You can buy it at Best Buy for $139 which includes installation. I installed this myself, but for anyone that doesn't want to install it by themselves can go to Best Buy to get it installed and they only charge $50.

Tip: You don't have to remove the radio, only the wood trim. You can feel the antenna cable and pull it out of the radio, and you can insert the other one without removing the radio too. There's lot of room back there.

The hardest part was getting power to the modulator and even that was not hard at all. The installation took all of about 15 mins. lol. And it was well worth it.

I took a video of the iSimple setup so that you can see how it looks and so you can hear it. There is absolutely NO STATIC. lol. I'm excited about that. haha.

Video is awesome. Does anyone have a video to post showing 1) how to remove the wood trim or 2) how to tap the power? That is what scares me the most

The wood trim is extremely easy, it's held in by 10 clips. Start at the top left where the hazard buttons are and work your way down. Be sure to go easy as you don't want to crack/break the wood.
I too was worried about the power so I picked up some 90 degree 3m taps and just connected them to the cigaret lighter. I'm sure somebody else here has a better description of how to tap into the wires.

Just bought an 02 RX300 with navigation. Does anyone know what is needed to get an iPod connection to work with the navigation? Most of the posts I've read are w/o navigation. I don't even know if it's different but would love anyone's help with it. Thanx!!
