I was driving down to Indiana, got stuck in traffic and tried to turn on the radio when i noticed i couldnt get any AM stations. FM worked perfectly fine. Then i noticed that the antenna thing had only gone up about an inch. When turning the radio on and off the antenna is shake violently and make this horrible creaking noise going down. Turning the radio back on did the exact same thiing. violent shaking and creaking noises. any idea on whats causing this?

Sounds like the antenna mast is dirty and sticking, or the toothed cable is broken. Do a search on "Antenna" and you'll see the repair instructions.
