Look at your loan agreement (You, too, redtoesblue). Check out your deal by adding:
Total of Down payment/Trade-in
Total of Amount Financed
Total of Finance Charges (based on APR and Number of Payments)
You'll get the total cost of your car.
...............................
Based on $422/month x 7 years = $35,448.
If there was no Down payment/Trade-in,
Amount Financed: Purchase Price incl title & fees $27,157
Finance Charges: $8,291, which means:
Your Total Cost: $35,448 for a 99 Lexus RX300 w/ 30,200 miles.
"A pretty good deal"...7 years of monthly payments?
Dood, I'm not slamming you...I just feel that monthly payments aren't an accurate measurement of a good deal.
IMO, I think your total cost determines a "good deal".

Right, I agree with Paddy...
I got a used 2001 with everything except Nav. 12,000 miles...
With a trade in WAY over equity(owed $12,000... worth like $7,000)
Got the payments down to $634.00/month for 66 months with $2000 down. 4.9% financing.
Paying $700.00 month to beat the system though!
ALWAYS OVERPAY YOUR MONTHLY PAYMENT!!!!!!! Even if its only $20 more. You'll save hundreds that way in interest over the term.
EDIT: I can't spell...

That's ok... at least you only have 1 car to worry about... and if luck has it your way, pay it off early....
I was seriously considering of getting the BMW 745LI, and finance it. But after much thinking, I've decided to just buy a house instead... car can always wait.... already have a wonderful Lexus with no debt...
