When you say tries to turn over, does the starter actually grind over and the engine wont start...?

Is the starter spinning the engine as fast as it normally does, or the spin is slow? [problem areas, battery, terminals, starter]

Does your clock show reset to 1am? [failing battery]

I would like to think, that the problem is solved.

The poster is no longer looking for further assistance.

I'm sorry everyone. I just got back from Cancun. The car trys to turn over, but will not start. The clock in the vehicle still holds the correct time.

that could be a couple of different things.iac valve, low or no fuel pressure, crank shaft position sensor, coolant sensor (doubt its that one though) was your cell on before you parked it? (check engine light)

If the starter doesnt grind, than maybe something in the starter circuitry. Do you hear a click when you try to start the car?

"Car trys to turn over" usually points to battery/starter type problem. The fact that your clock is not resetting eliminates the battery. Or do you really mean car is turning over (meaning the battery/starter is cranking the engine, the engine is spinning or turning over but it just won't start). If this is the case try working the gas pedal to get it to start. If it starts using this method it is most likely the IACV (idle air control valve). If you just do a search on it on this forum there is a procedure on how to clean it.
If it truly is not turning over, I would suspect the starter. There is also a procedure on the forum on repairing the starter solenoid contacts.
Both IACV and starter solenoid contacts are common problems in the early RX.

also, what year is it? how many miles have you logged on it? how was it acting prior to you parking it?

i know one time i had a similar issue except mine would start and just not stay on, turns out it was my maf sensor but if yours doesnt start at all that may not help.
