Default Coolant leak

Well been busy, I have had coolent loss for over a year, very slow, and I thought at first was the radiator cap. Seemed to help, but when the cold weather hit here it increased. Found crystalized residue down the back side of engine between the tranny and block. appeared to come from the thermostat area....See picture pretty ugly.... Took thermostat off but no trace of leaking. So the Thermostat housing had to be removed, yep, All of the intake manifolds had to be taken off. The thermostat housing is mounted on a plate that goes over the valley of the engine block...appears to be leaking there, it uses a silicone gasket...crossing my fingers. I discovered the 14mm bolt on the back of the air plenum, what a pain...I modified that bracket and put a washer under the bolt to raise it so that a gearwrench can be used next time. Note this is the same process for when the Knock sensors have to be replaced. What a pain...saw no residue from either cylinder head gasket, hoping just the housing seal was bad, yep did replace the hose in there while I had it apart...Hope nobody else experiences this leak...I did it all myself, probably saved $1400
