Default Informal Timing Belt Failure Survey.....

For those brave and kind enough to admit it.......has anyone ever had a timing belt break/snap on their RX300. Or any timing belt fatigue related mishap for that matter. If so:

1. what was the issue?

2. What is the year of your vehicle?

3. What was the approximate date when it happened?

4. What was the Approx mileage when it happend?

5. Did the valves bend or were you able to get away with just replacing the belt?

Hopefully no one has encountered this as of yet but if you have information...would be helpful.

I'm a wimp and got too much money... I had my belts changed at 60K and 105K. I know it's too soon on both accounts, but stealership suckered me in with a discount because I had gone in for other services.

It has not happened to me yet (belt break on this vehicle) but it is pretty much a givin,(99.9 %) that it will do extensive damage to the motor.
