Default Malfunction indicator lamp, VSC, and Track Off lights are on

Hello everyone, wanted to say thanks to all for the great help received
here. I joined yesterday, searched the forums and found several others
that had the same problem I do. The malfunction indicator lamp, VSC,
and Track Off lights on my 2002 Rx-300 all came on while driving to work.
Went to AutoZone, got the codes P0440 & P0446. Came back here did a
little searching, found several possible solution.

I checked the gas cap, made sure it was clean and on tight. Next, since
I had the oil changed a couple of weeks ago, I checked the evaporation
hose below and behind the air filter and it was disconnected. I reattached
it, then disconnected the negative cable on the battery for about 10
minutes. Put back, started the car, all is good. I'll continue to watch
closely for any changes.

Thanks again for the help, the search here worked great!

Removing the negative battery terminal might make the code not appear back, but if it does, I would post the codes again.

Might want to ask Salimshah or Lexmex on this one.

Avery,if that hose was disconnected that you found, that is more than likely what the cause of the indicator lights were.Try and pick up a pocket scanner from Auto-Zone or an auto parts store near you. They are around $60.00(well worth the money) and it will clear your ecm by sending a command(the proper way to clear the ecm)plus you will not have to go and get your codes read. How many miles have you got on your RX?

Thanks good info. The RX only has 58k on it. It's the wife's car, it's been
one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. Very few problems after all
these years.
