Default Bye Bye Acura TL!!!!! Hello '99 RX-300

I am new to this forum and really did not know where else to post this.

I hope is the right place.

I got what I think is a great deal for $9K on a '99 RX-300 with 120K miles on it. No leaks, no scratches, basically flawless except the wood trim to eithe side of the radio display. Nothing that a little epoxy can't fix.

Well here it goes. Let me know your thoughts on it. Be cruel be honest in your opinions

Thanks
Juan

Looks real good juan,I like those tires. What kind are they Firestone? Are they 225/70-16? Looks like you made a good deal.

Pretty cool!! I have the exact same car and paid 7500.00 with 175,000 miles. The previous owners must have had bushes along the driveway as the car has minor branch scratches. Make sure to keep the oil and pay special attention to the transmission fluid as the one major flaw of the RX300 is the transmissions belly-up. I've been enjoying mine as the interior is mint but the car did come with a heating issue to the front driver foot area and I've also identified a leaking AC condenser which is in front of the radiator.

You will find many resourceful forum comments and look into replacement rear tail-light kits which will spruce up the rear end. I just purchased a used set of 2001 rear tail assembly from the forum classified section. I waited patiently and spent 100.00 instead of the Anza set on E-bay for 250.00. Some sets are clear and I'm getting the black which will look fine as my RX is black.

Let me know if you receive outside vented air from the front dash vents when all console environmental button are in the off position. Mine allows the air in which I'm not sure is correct or not.

Thanks Thomas.

Later I will be doing the AUX mod for MP3 and will probably have some questions on the subject.

Great post BTW.

You are correct. They are Firestone Destination LE tires 225/70R16 inflated at 30 PSI

Thanks for the comments

There's actually a lot of flexibility with the tail-lights and front lights. Oh ya, I forgot to mention, RockAuto.com is where I go for parts but you'll find that the forum provides a few additional sites for parts. Search on E-bay for RX300 and you'll find all kinds of cool things. I personally would like to replace the tail wind scoop above the back hatch window and replace with the updated version. I wonder wher your rims were chromed or maybe that's a factory option.

Very nice. Welcome to the Club. It reminds me of when I got my 1999 many years and I do like the wood kit very much.

What a sweet deal on a great car. I would think black-colored cars would show the car's age right away but the previous owner kept it in such great condition. Congrats and welcome!
My opinion is to get rid of that spoiler on the upper portion of the trunk and change it into the spoiler that comes on the RX300's after 2001 or so.
Don't forget to keep an eye on your motor oil and tranny fluid!

I think it was a dealer upgrade. I am the second owner of it. I did not ask as I din't think it mattered, but it seems like they wer chrome when purchased.
