Sure can, no problem........I have a set of 18" RX400h alloys on my 2003 RX300 Mk1.....presently fitted with 235/50x18 Pirelli STR.....235 width will give you approximately 10-15mm clearance between the tyre wall and the rear strut (depending on the tyre make).....I also have 15mm hubcentric spacers on the rear to give me room in anticipation of a set of 255/55x18 probably at the end of the summer. They may even fit without rubbing but it will be too close for comfort I reckon.

Bottom line....the alloys will fit.........

Best regards David

Well you might want to put some tyres on them.....or it tends to get pretty noisy!

If the rims came with bog standard RX400h tyres then no problems at all, just a straight bolt on jobby.

Don't worry......soon there'll be nothing to do except work....but it only lasts for around 40 years!

Uk is fine.....but road surfaces are falling apart and fuel is $2 per litre....and you think your badly off?

Best regards David

No problems at all, in fact just got home after a 1200 mile drive across France and back.....tyres (Pirelli Scorpion), well didn't even notice them, so thats a good sign of a great tyre!

I am looking to replace them when they get worn with 255/55x18 as it brings the speedo accuracy closer to spec....I was wondering about the "high sidewall" look and if I'd be happy....

Anyone have piccies of a Mk1 with 255/55x18 on?

Hey Lexus1234...is your a Mk1 or Mk2....because by my reckoning on standard Mk2 rims on a Mk1 car it should need at least 5mm spacers at the rear with 255's.....any sign of rubbing on the suspension strut?

Best regards David

Too big? I have 255/55/18s on my 18" wheels and love them. However, they do rub when I turn the steering wheel completely. I am training myself not to do so

The 245 might not rub

Keep in mind the width may vary between models of the same/diff manufacturer.

if you add 245 /55/18 you think there would be no rub? what about 235's? is calibration correct? thanks
