I have a 1999 RX300, I purchased it from a family member with 110,000 miles on it. I now have 250,335 on it and looking to get 300k out of it. I change oil myself every 3000K miles. I have had a complete tune up done about 70,000 miles ago; timing belt, water pump, thermostat, plugs and ignition coils. That was for my own peace of mind. I just change break fluid and this spring I will do another engine coolant change and tranny flush, but again, that is my own peace of mind in doing so. I just changed the OCV (solenoid) as my check engine light was on (codeP1354) and car is running just fine again.
I could do many minor things to car such as; seat belt does not coil back, arm rest is worn out, slight rip in drivers seat, and my license plate lamp is out (screws are stripped and rusted). The car runs great!!! I take it on 300 - 400 mile road trips with no worries. I used to say my 1988 Honda Accord was the best car I ever owned, but this car is the best for sure.

I must have the fewest miles here for a 2000 RX300 FWD. Just at 130k miles. Bought it used in 2008 with 80k. Main issue has been bad ignition coils. I had four go bad over a period of five years, and after the fourth failure I went ahead and replaced the other two as a preventative measure. Easy DIY fix.

Smile New to us. 2004 RX 300 160,000

Yep! I believe that Lexus drive train is good for the LONG HAUL! Purchased ours 4/8/2015. Sounds and runs like a new car. Fingers, legs, and toes crossed for the best!

Bought my 99 rx300 used of course from a lexus dealer that did some big fixes to it that were just part of routine maintenance mostly before we bought it. They changed the drive belts, did a oil and filter change, fixed the left front drivers door lock actuator(motor I think), and some other odds and ends I cant recall for sure. But I picked it up back in January on Jan 22nd of this year with 131,031 miles on it (or something like that) and i now have a bit over 135,000 and still runs excellent. It seems whoever had it prior to me took excellent care of this one. Everything works on the inside too!. Memory system for the drivers seat works, all door locks work now(left front one again was fixed by dealer), all lights are functioning, everything is in tip top shape at the present time so I have no complaints other than i wish these rx's got a bit better mileage; however; back then they just did not have quite the engineering to get better mileage that they have nowadays. All the fluids on mine looked to have been recently changed too so i dont have to do those for awhile.

Mine's around 232,000 right now. We got it new in 2002 and it's pretty much at the end of its life.
Well, it's lived a good life, so we'll just have to see how much longer it'll last

Smile 2000 RX300 All wheel Drive

My 2000 RX300 just made it to 177,330. It is still running very strong. I hope to hand it over to my kids when they get to driving age. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Cheers!

190k in my 2002 awd. Just did new brakes, rotors and battery. did 3200 mile road trip to British Columbia and the Yukon. One quart of oil. had shocks done at 150k. runs perfect. hope to get 250k+ as the newer rx's have lousy rear visibility.

No, that is miles. Why are you assuming it's KM's?

I purchased this new in Nov. 2000. Fully loaded with GPS, AWD etc. The only repairs I have had to do over $100.00 is the transmission. Still has the original starter, alternator, and even the original HID headlight bulbs! It was my wife's daily driver up until 2014. She wanted something different so I found her a cream puff 06 LS430. I couldn't sell the RX with that high of mileage and gotten anything for it so I decided to let my 16 year old son drive it. It's safe, reliable and not a speed demon.
I have changed the oil religiously every 5K with M1 and Toyota filter. It uses about ½ quart now between oil changes.
This thing really amazes me to be honest with you.

I just bought a 2001 Lexus RX 300 for $4600 with 132,000 miles the transmission is making a little noise which is the planetary gears this was considered a normal problem. I met a lady leaving the Tustin Lexus here in Orange County California she told me she had 398,000 miles on her RX 300 with only one transmission at around 300,000 miles. The first thing I did was to change all the fluids to synthetic oil and drain the radiator and the block and used Toyota red antifreeze with distilled water 50-50 mix. I plan to drive this RX 300 to about 250 to 300,000 miles. I drove a 1986 Toyota Cressida 529,000 miles a 1991 Lexus LS 400 329,000 miles using all synthetic fluids and nothing wore out in either car. The only thing I have to do now is to get the transmission rebuilt when the planetary gears get too noisy it's an awesome vehicle I also have put in LED tail light bulbs and HID headlights I got them from DDM tuning in Huntington Beach California. The LED taillights bulbs are using Cree LEDs and they are insanity at night.
