Here my cousin Antonio joins in and puts the tire and lugnuts back on.

Now we will move on to the rear shocks.

We first start by locating the top bolts (we have already removed the tire). They are located here. The covers are known as deck side covers.

There particular bolts are 12 mm bolts (not 14 mm like the ones up front). We will see 12 mm bolts again shortly.

Now keep in mind what I said earlier, the FWD and AWD versions each use different rear shocks, mine is AWD and the difference centers mainly on the location of the ABS Speed Sensor Wire Harness, which is the small wire starting at the top of the photo and protruding downward toward the harness and then continuing downward. It is held in by a 10 mm bolt.

The ABS wire harness and the stabilizer bar link (14 mm) are two of the 5 bolts that need to be removed. Here my cousin Antonio works on getting undone a particularly meddlesome stabilizar bar link bolt on the passenger side (it was not as difficult on the driver's side).

Here we remove the two 3/4 inch camber bolts (not 7/8 like the front).

Another view.

Now there is one bolt in back of the shock that is a 12 mm bolt for the brake fluid line.

A look up at the shock location. There is a black cap in the center of the screen that goes at the top and is visible in this picture.

Rear shock.

Note in this picture that half of my dust cover is gone. They can and will go bad and I ended up having to cut it off to the present position after it was left dangling.

And here we go on the clamps and air pistol for removal of the spring.

See this 5 second clip of this process, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ9UWir4tZI
