Lexusaudio & YoshRx300, I have a 2006 Lexus GS 300, and I want to add an OEm navigation system with the backup camera. I have seen some of the forums (YoshRx300). Can u guys help me in terms of all the parts I need, instructions, and where can I find the parts. I have seen units on ebay, but do i have to buy a separate wiring harness, nav ecu, or can I just buy the nav system. Thanks

Hey is there any way I can get one of these for my RX? Are you still selling them? If not, Any instructions on the exact parts required and how to make your own custom wiring harness? Can anyone pass on the detailed instructions and pictures included with the kit?

Anything is possible given enough time and money. Read the complete thread.

Cheaper and better alternatives exist but you dont get the seemless integration.

yea you can do it on the 99 and even still use the Gen 4 computer...be ready to put in some time and 1500-1600 bucks though.

That would be 20% of the vehicle cost with next to nothing increase in value.

Can a strait swap of one of these without the satnav receiver be done on a Jap Harrier import? I.e plug and play? I have the JBL speakers and TV tuner on the original but just want to put a UK rx300 console in without connecting the satnav receiver at it's not coming with one. If it's matter of plugging in the radio and heater plugs for those two functions to work and be displayed properly without navigation connected then that would be fine by me but I need confirmation.

I am sure it can be done, but would need to swap some wires around on the connectors. A schematic would make it easy

I just bought my 2003 RX300 with 106,000 miles on it. It has a Nav system, but reads "no DVD". From what I have been reading, that message may mean the DVD is missing or the DVD drive may have gone bad. I would like to address this problem, but am unclear about the components, models, revisions, etc. Path of least resistance will be to try a DVD in the drive to see if it will read. What disc should I get for my 2003 RX300? Will the latest revision work by itself, or will it require the original disc to be inserted first for basic functions, verification of ownership...?
Are older versions available (for a super-cheap price) that I can use to test the system?

Thank you for that link. What happens if I buy the EAST disc and drive from FL to CA? Will it only get me to Dallas?

Don't know for sure, but suspect it'll still have major highways and roads but not the detailed maps and POIs

Question The DVD is, in fact, in the drive

My monitor claims "NO DISC DETECTED". However, I have located the drive and pressed eject and out came the disc.
So, does that mean the DVD drive is defective?
Can I replace it with another DVD drive?
Can I replace it with an SD Card reader?
Considering I get GPS for free on my phone, I am not willing to spend a lot of money on this Nav system, but for a reasonable cost, it would be convenient to have the built-in Nav available to use.

WOW.. this is my first time signing up to the lexus club. Do you have any idea where I can buy the kit now. I just purchased a 2001 RX300 silversport with 48k miles. AND yes its in great condition. The previous owner stopped driving it due to sickness many years ago. I feel like I hit the lotto with this purchase. The only thing missing from the car is a navigation system and I have to replace the right rear wheel speed sensor. Shouldn't be too big of a reply. I guess. I should open up a new post about my purchase and topic regarding a 2001 rx300 navigation system. I have the regular blue information screen.

I have done my one as well. Got parts from a car breaker. Also have spare navi DVD for sale.
There was good few adds on eBay for screen.
Got the antenna from China for 11$ with free shiping
