replacing belt for A/C?
Starting to get a squeaking noise from the A/C belt, only comes on when the A/C is on. I'm not sure how you go about replacing it. I've read that some lexus models have a tensioner bolt next to the alternator, does that apply for the rx300? Anything else I should be thinking about here? How hard is it to change this thing? Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

The AC comp belt is the same that goes over the alternator and the alternator has the tension adjustment.
If there is no glaze, you can try adjusting the tension.

just wondering, is this the same issue that many RX300's have when you start it and hear it squeak? Mine does it mostly if I turn the car on with the A/C already on, but it sometimes does it regardless. I've read that this is a common problem on this model and that there is not much we can do

You can tighten the AC belt with these DIY instructions and easily get rid of squeaks.
