$300 for a headlamp rear level sensor !!!!!!!!!!!!
I am kind of stunned to find out how much the dealer wants for that little headlamp level sensor that is attacted to the rear swaybar........
I have taken mine off and opened it up and like I thought it has water damage to the parts inside.
I have gotten some prices any where from $290.00 - $423.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
total ripoff!!!!!!
anyone have any idea where to find it for less ??????

yep irontoad is less. I need one too. I haven't gotten one because it works during the cold weather and i dont carry passengers or load. My todler son Rarely rides with me and therefore no need for load levelling compensation. As soon as it warms up, i know its gonna stop working again and that warning light in the instrument cluster is going to iritate me again. until then i am ok. BTW is there a non lexus part or perhaps an aftermarket part that could be had for less much less than $290. i am not willing to spend $275 for a no oem part when i cant get the oem for $290

headlamp level sensor.
Well Irontoad was still $279 !!!! rip off. I took mine off and opened it and found
water damage and rust. cleaned it all off with contect cleaner and seemed to work but I broke off one of the connector pins and the switch so now I am screwed?
Its only a glorified potentiometer with some springs inside.
I am going to check around at some salvage yards, they might have a RX300 sitting around?

any pics so we can be proactive and seal ours up before this happens to us?
Try All Toyota Lexus salvage yard in Otay Mesa, CA, they hae a few RX's there you can pick off. Sometimes they just let you take small things for free.
