Key will not turn in ignition
I hope someone can help me out of this problem...
After following this key programming instructions found here: http://www.toy-lex.com/programming11.html the key I was trying to program and the key I have used daily for the past 4 years will not turn in the ignition. I can put it in and take it out, but it seems as if there is a solenoid that is preventing this as some sort of anti-theft measure.
I have tried the following:
1) Turning the steering wheel (so much so that I am actually turning the tires slightly)
2) Disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes
3) Trying the wallet key
4) Tapping ignition with hammer
The thing that really sucks is that I did this around 11 PM on a weekday and now I won't be able to drive the car to work tomorrow.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Out of Warranty
We had some discussion of that problem here:

You may need to lubricate the lock cylinder with a special purpose lubricant that contains graphite. One tiny can is a lifetime supply. Be sure to follow directions on the can, wiping your key carefully and reinserting it in the ignition several times. You don't want that stuff in your pocket.
Be extremely careful about strong-arming the switch, or hitting it with anything - you could disable the ignition system altogether. It's a REALLY expensive replacement.

Lexus Test Driver
These tips were helpful to me, also. I'll try them. It has happened to my daughter's 99 RX300 (out of warranty) and my wife's 04 GX470 (in warranty -- we have documented the problem with the dealer in case it doesn't completely fail until later.) Thanks!

From the way you have described it, i.e., key won't turn; it sounds like a lock lubrication problem rather than having anything to do with the anti-theft programming. But maybe I'm not reading it as you intended.
Trying some WD-40 won't hurt for the short term, although this will wash out the lubricant that's there and you'll need to relubricate (e.g., graphite) later; in my opinion.
