Need Help vs. Dealer!
When we purchased our 1999 RX-300 in mid 1999 the dealer offered us chrome wheels as an option, they had them on a RX-300 there already and on the showroom floor on a wheel display. We went with the chrome wheels. Now, 2 years later, the chrome is flaking off in some areas. We took the car in for this and a couple of other things and the dealer is telling us that chrome wheels were NOT an option in 1999. Is this true? What they said that dealers do is send the wheels out to be chrome dipped and then put them on the car and that the warranty on the chrome dipping is only 1 year, not the standard warranty on the car itself. I think they are trying to weasel out of having to replace the wheels since this dealership where we went for service isn't the one where we bought the car.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!

Unfortunately, (especially after 2 years or 24,000 miles), wheels aren't really covered. Also Chrome rims, due to the nature of its coating, is much more fragile than the stock silver/clear coat. The coating itself is expensive to put on and repair.
If you still have the window sticker, you can show them that.
