17x8 rim fit issue and tire size
hello!!!
first time poster here, but been reading the forums for a while.
i got a questions for everyone. i have a 17x8 rim that i used for my camry. i wanted to put that rim on my 2000 rx300.
1) do you think the 8" wide rim would have a fitting issue for my car?
2) what size tire is the max i can put on without rubbing issues. i checked tires.com and it stated that for 17" rim, i can put 245/65-17, 255/55-17, or 255/60-17. have anybody used a 255/60-17 on their rx300??
thanks for all your help!!
John

From what is have read here.....245 is the largest you can go. 255 will need spacers. The 8 inch rim should not be a problem. It really depends on the offset though. Do you have those specs? I think you need an offset in the 38 range

The 245/65/17 is the largest diameter that you listed above. This diameter could do wonders in filling up that wheel well gap we have. The 245 will have the speedo reading 60 when it is goin 62.4 mph.
the stock is 225/70/16 i believe...
check out the differences here:
