99 RX300 Rear Wheel Area Noise/Knocking
Hello Everyone:
Sorry if this is a repost and someone already asked.
Wanted to know if anyone had an experience with noise coming from the rear wheel area of their RX300 while going >30 mph on a slight curve or turn in the road. While driving I hear a wobbling/howling/knocking noise from the rear wheel area of the vehicle. I called my family mechanic and he mentioned to change the rear differential oil and check my brakes. I did and the problem did not subside. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Darrin

I think them rear struts are due. How many mile do you have on your RX?
Mine is doing the samething and more noticeable in the morning when cold.
My '99 is at 144K mi. I'm shopping for both front and rear struts for my AWD.

I also get a little noise back there and I think they are the struts, but my uncle and I checked it out and nothing damaged. Usually a good wash underneath and around that area helps quiet it a little bit, but no car wash will replace a strut.
