I've found a black '01 OEM RX wood/leather steering wheel if anyone is interested. It's on ebay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...636449&r=0&t=0

Sadly, I don't believe the 99-00 RX came with black, only grey leather. Maybe an SS owner would want it, or a GS owner w/o sportshift and black leather.

Yes paint it. I have used the vinal paint thats sold in car stores and it does work! Use very light coats as directed and you will never know it was black and feels like leather too. Bid on the wheel and then buy the air bag for $650... I put one on my 00 and I do love it.

I thought about buying it and sending it off to have it recovered in my leather color. I am just leary that it may not be a close enough match. I am holding out until I find a tan one. If I have to buy the '01 wheel then I have to buy the airbag too and that will add up to a lot of $$. I don't think I can add the expense of having the leather recovered too. Plus, the backing of the wheel is black, I would have to recolor the plastic part there too

Very tempting, but I'll wait until I find what I want...

BTW, where did you get your wheel, was it ebay? And, did you buy the airbag from the dealer?
