Gold Emblems Peeling
I recently bought a used 2000 RX300. The gold emblems appear to have a dry clear film that flakes off when I rub them. I do that because the film looks like dirt. Afetr scraping off some of the film, the color is still gold.
1. Has anyone else had this film flake off?
2. Are all the emblems supposed to be metal or are some plastic (like the front "L" on the grill)?

Is it a problem
Yup, had the same exact thing happen to me this weekend. Was Zaino-ing the Rex when I noticed a "bubble" on the front emblem. It started to flake off. I'm a little concerned because this might be a clear coat that was applied to protect the gold.
I'll mention to the dealer the next time I go in.
