Have done a Transmission pan drop, filter change and fluid exchange and am now ready to do a power steering fluid exchange. I used Wolf's Head universal synthetic for the tranny. Alright for the power steering as well?

Thanks
Scott

Yes, that fluid will work fine for the power steering.

I want to change my fluid on RX330 (2004) , im in love with MObil 1 ATF ( I used it on my RX300 (2000) ) and it was perfect. But now MObil 1 ATF is prohibited to sale in California. =((( Which brand of ATF is THE BEST to replace mobil 1 atf?

I used to use Valvoline's synthetic power steering fluid and that's pretty common in a lot of auto stores.

How about Valvoline maxlife dexron? I probably will have leftover after changing ATF on a civic.

I just extracted the fluid from the reservoir twice and poured in M1 ATF. Fluid looks very red and steering feels fine. First time changing it at 100k miles and the fluid was brown. I can't say the steering was having problem though because of that.

I'd favor using only the Valvoline one I mentioned or M1 ATF.

Ok, that's fine.

I still have another M1 bottle left. I don't think I need to change the fluid for a while anyways.

bumping this old thread...how often should the PS fluid be flushed/replaced? I couldn't find it in the Lexus maintenance schedule as a list item. No issues here, but i just noticed my fluid looks black by the looks of the reservoir.

Generally never, but most likely you will encounter an event that requires replacing it. That event can be pump going bad or rack developing a leak. If you notice the fluid to be dark, then gradually refresh it.

FYI> I developed a leak in the system as I switched to synthetic stuff.

Use a large turkey baster to draw the fluid out of the reservoir.

With this said; what is best to use to collect the old fluid and where can I take it to dispose of it as I know that you cant just toss it as that would be a enviromental issue big time.

I take all of my old fluids here: Pick the one closest to you.
