Code58: thank you for your suggestion to disconnect the connector of the AFR sensor (B1S1). My in-law used a long metal lever to squeeze the clip from top of the engine while I pulled on it from the bottom of the car and we got it.

Long story short, but I tested the resistance between the +B and HT terminals as suggested earlier and it had an open circuit so I knew it was shot. I replaced it with Denso 2349009 ($140), reset the code, and the lights are gone and I've just passed the emission inspection.

(now I'm off to my next fix: need to replace my air leaking wheels - I'll do another thread for that)

Great Forum!

Default 2001 rx300

hello, iam a new member to clublexus.com, for i have just bought a 2001 lexus rx300. this forum is very informative, i wanna thank everybody for their efforts to try to help other find and fix their problems and hopefully save them some money also

i have a problem since i got the rx, its a 2001 rx300. has 140000 km.

the person i bought it from since he changed the o2 sensors and they look newer. under the hood and by the catalytic convertor. 500 km after i bought it the check engine light came on followed by the vsc.

i took it to a mechanic and told him the owner rep[laced the sensors so he cleared it, said maybe they used the battery method to clear it.

came on 2 days later and took it back, when the tester was plugged in to turn the car on, it wasn't there.

came on after and i took the efi fuse like i read here and when i turned the car on the lights were gone and i don't know when they'll come back.

any suggestions? sorry for the long story, and thanks for your patience
