Hi All,

I found this thread from a Google search a couple weeks ago.
I had the exact need for an Aux In for my wife's Sirius radio and iPod.
EXCELLENT work guys, thank you so much! I still can't believe it but this
(RX300 w/o Nav) seems to be the ONLY modern car made that you can NOT
just buy an adapter.. you can't even buy an aftermarket sound system
because its all molded into the dash.
I used smaller relays and also put in capability for a cellphone and nav system. I put two small switches on the console to select the source.
I also cut the antenna signal and switched it so the shaft antenna does not
have to be up when you are listening to the Sirius or iPod.
I bought a Belkin iPod adapter that works great with this setup except for a
very slight alternator whine (guess that's why they went with differential i/o).
It was a real pain to rip the dash apart and I did manage to break the VSC and
Traction control(I started a new thread on that one)..
Oh, well, just something else to work on..

I have hands on experince with SIK adapter, so the following may not apply to you.

If I disconnect the dc charge (supply) line to ipod, the alternator noise is eliminated.

Thanks Salim,
That is good info. If that is the case, filtering the 12v input should eliminate the
whine. The Belkin has an amplifier in line so I can't just unplug it to try it. Of
course I should try that.

I had heard about some issues with the Belkin amp and noise, but I had the Sik Imp and kept leaving the iPod on when I left the car.

The Belkin is nice because it automatically pauses the iPod when you shut off the ignition.

Thanks that is a great site. Looks like he has his hands in everything, just like
ME! In fact, I stole his internal iPod pictures.. I must be the only idiot in the
world that can't get one cracked open to replace the battery, his pics might
help.
The Belkin amp is needed to get the level up to where the stock radio is, in
fact it is perfect. I think the alternator whine is there with the Sirius also,
so I don't think I can do anything to help the Belkin, it is fine as is. And YES,
having it auto turn off the iPod is the main reason I bought it. FYI, it just is
a certain value resistor across a couple pins on the iPod connector that forces
it to Pause/auto shut down, you maybe could add it to the Sik.
The only part of my install left is to bury the Belkin inside the console and wire
it to the inside of the power outlet in the backseat where it is plugged in right
now.
I was only waiting on that until I could get the Check Engine light off after
my dash panel work turned it on..

I'm leaving the Sik alone in a drawer. I've thought about selling it on eBay, but there aren't any there so I figure either nobody has them or nobody wants them.

I prefer the Belkin unit, plus the connector for the iPod is nicer since it's one piece as opposed to the Sik which has to cables coming off of the connector (audio signal and power)

The two cables can be a blessing too. If you happen to pull it out of the drawer, do not connect the power and you will remove the noise source.
The SiK also does not amplify the signal level (just be aware).

Hello, I-pod fans... Pioneer CD-IB100 II i-Pod® adapter
is a cd-magazin, you just put into your CD-magazin player.
I think it will fit, but I have not tried. Wouldn't that solve the case?
I prefer an analog line in.

It is done. New Sirius radio screwed to dash, iPod in console, all playing good
through the Aux in.. THANK YOU for showing me how. You guys are great.

Here is a photo of my control switches..
Left on is UP for normal HU, DOWN for AUX (in AUX, the antenna is retracted)
Right switch is UP for Sirius, DOWN for iPod

I put in a total of 3 relays, only 2 are used by the above functions. The last
relay will be used later for a cellphone on the left speakers and a nav sytem
on the right speakers. This won't be completed until we get new phones,
probably will be BlueTooth..

Looks like the Pioneer CD-IB100 II is an i-Pod adapter made to connect an i-Pod to a Pioneer I-pod ready Head Unit.

All this adapter does is interface into the IP-Bus on a Pioneer head unit.
Now the question is how do you put a Pioneer head unit into an RX300 that has
at totally integrated sound system. This adapter does us here NO good.
