1999 RX300 - Whats this part?
Hi,
I'm working on a massive ratbag of a RX300. It has all kinds of problems and in a normal country would be crushed.
Anyhow, just below the oil filters and headers there is a cylindrical part mounted to the front crossmember that's leaking oil.
What is this please?
I usually am diesel only.

A thorough (but not aggressive) cleanup with a degreaser, followed up with regular visual will lead you to the source.
The way the oil filter is attached and being high up, ends up with a trail of engine oil on every replacement. It requires a bit of patience where the oil filter is loosened till it drips and gets collected below in a small steam of droplets. If in a hurry, add rags below to catch the gush. I don't particularly like the engine mount (rubber part) right in the path of engine oil.
