Aftermarket Stereo...can it be done
I have a 2000 RX-300 with no Navigate. Do have a factory tape/cd changer.
I want to put a new alpine CD player deck to play MP3 and WMA.
Ask some professional installer and was told that there is no wire-harness for RX-300.
Have anyone install an after market stereo in there RX-300?
Can I see pictures?

A wireharness makes it much easier to install afermarket gear, but you don't need it. Yo don't even have to cut the OEm wires off. You can just tap them. What did installers do long ago when there were little to no aftermarket wireharness avaialbe? Simple. They just installed it. Just go to another shop to get your system installed. I don't have an RX300 but I do have an RX330 that I installed a full Alpine audio video system in and there is no wireharness for that car either. I'm not even a pro installer so if I can do it I can't see any reason why a pro shop that does this for a living can't do it.

I have seen several pictures in HyperRev magazine with Harriers that had this done and at least one former member of CL (I think he sold the RX  ) did something similar.

it could be done .. i seen couple of pictures... there is a guy around my area that does great jobs ... hes gonna be doing my pretty soon im on his waiting list.... hes gonna be installin ... Pioneer AVX-P8DVD, Pioneer DEH-P7700MP, Kenwood KAC-8402, Kenwood KAC-8152D...

The only ones i seen they kept the factory radio and just added an aftermarket bolted to the ceiling in a custom mount.
That case just find the ignition on for power and feed the wire to all the speakers.
