What is this? They advertise it on TV, there's a link on the website that only directs you to a dealer. I asked my dealer and they said it just means that they can deal. Is it some type of factory to dealer incentive to move 2001 models? I understand that a luxury car maker almost never offers customer incentives because it lowers the brand image.

I'm not looking to get a better deal, just wondering why it's so secretive.

It's the end-of-year price specials so they can clear out '01 inventory before the '02s come in.

Same thing all car manufacturers do at the end of a model year.

i understand that, but most car companies advertise specifics. this is just a special with no details. just seems strange to me.

There are no prices specified because there are no Lexus incentive programs involved. It's just a way to promote getting the "leftovers" off of the lot.

Actually, there may be some "back end" deals from Lexus to help the dealers give sweeter pricing on cars they have in stock but no country-wide $399, 39-month lease specials or anything like that. They don't have that many cars backed up to need that kind of sales incentive.

Default Golden Opportunity

I have visited five local Lexus dealers just in the last two weeks and there are very few "nice" RX's to be had. I did see white one's but that's about it. (Maybe there hiding them somewhere).

The golden opp is basically amounts to this, you get an extra $1000 of the negotiated price, and if your a current lexus owner and got the mailing, you get another $500. I just had my RX SS delivered yesterday, total came to 37,150..

As a current or past Lexus owner you always get $500 off as a "Lexus loyalty discount".
