All stressed out nd No Where to go.....
One of my coil died right after spark plug change ... I guess the fuller spark stressed the dying coil-pack.

Default Check Engine Light Came On - On my beloved '07 RX 350

I have been changing ignition coils since Jan 2013 - one after the other I have changed 3 ignition coils so far - sorry do not remember exactly which ones - i should have noted down when I took my RX350 to my mechanic.

Last week the check engine light came back on along with the VSC sign. I put my new OBD II scanner and it have me the following 8 error codes and I quote;

"P0300 $07E8 - Random / multiple cylinder misfire detected"

from P0301 $07E8 through P0306 $07E8 with "Cylinder 1 (through 7) misfire detected and finally

"Ignition Coil E - Primary /Secondary circuit"

So, I am wondering what is this ignition coil E? How can all the 6 cylinders are misfiring all at once?

Any idea what this could be and what I should be doing? With the 3 coils I replaced I also changed all the spark plugs.

Welcome your expert input.

Welcome to CL.

All owners dread getting any of those for free, let alone paying money for them.

These are error codes that OBDII scanner shows. Nasty Check Engine Light.

Question

Hmm, checked my dad's codes and along with P0171 & P1153 (which have been on & off for a couple of years), all three front cylinders (P0300, P0302, P0304, P0306) register errors/misfires -- all at once! It happened all of the sudden: CEL started flashing, got home (about two miles) and hooked up the reader to find the new codes.

Any thoughts on all of these registering at once? I could see a progression of the coils going out, but seems a little sudden for all of them to go on the fritz at once. Could it be as simple as bad gas? Spark plug cable assembly? Air intake leak?

THANKS!

I have similar issues with my lexus rx330. The check engine light keeps blinking, the car shakes even when stationary with the engine on especially in traffic, and the car does not ride smoothly on the high way.

I took it to a mechanic workshop/servicing centre where it was suggested that it's engine spark plugs problem which I let them change all six. The air filter and adjacent parts were cleaned including the air flow meter. However, prior to the development of this "flashing check engine light" they have changed the passenger front shock absorberror, both shaft tubing protector, and the two steering locks (the thyroid, the previous day. The problem continues.

Today, I had the car scanned and got these codes:
C1223 (malfunctioning ABS)
C1246 (malfunctioning master cylinder pressure sensor)
P0304 (s1 and s2)

Please I need help for the interpretation of these results/code and how I will sort out these problems.

Thank you all in advance.

check to see if they plugged in or damaged the plug that goes to the brake master cylinder by the drivers side strut. It is sometimes moved to make room to get to one of the strut top bolts. Unplugging it can give ABS related CEL codes.
