I have a 2000 RX and got the factory rack. I was wondering if anyone ever got bike trays for it and if so, what kind did you get? Thinking about getting the trays soon!

I bought the Toyota bike rack from my Lexus dealer for my '00 RX. It is made for the RX and works great - I like the way it looks too. I have some pictures of in in the RX gallery. Installation is a snap!

Question
Does it come with all the locks and everything? How does it lock to the rack? I just got a quote for about 143.00 for the bike rack. Im thinking about getting 2. Its either that or maybe the thule big mouth series. UGH.. still confused on which to buy.

It comes with everything to mount it onto the stock cross bars and fits perfectly onto them. Everything is there you need to use it - there is a locking mechanism for the clamp that goes over the frame of the bicycle to hold it up. I would go with the one from Toyota b/c it looks great, works well, and I know it fits the existing roof rack. If you have any other questions or something I can help you with on this I will certainly try.

Here's a picture of the thule rack. I think Im leaning towards the toyota bike trays since it goes right on the rack itself. Do you have any closeup pictures of just your rack?

The thing I don't like about the racks like Thule (while excellent products) is that you have to buy and attachment to go on your existing roof rack then attach the bike rack. That is costly and, in my opinion, doesn't look good. Sorry, I don't have any close up pictures. I need to buy a digital camera here sometime soon. I'll grab my dad's polaroid and snap some, then scan them in. Let me warn you, the picture quality will suffer
I'm glad to help though - that way you can make sure you know what you like best.

Oh, how sad. This is truly horrible, nonetheless I hope it helps. I even tried manipulating the hue saturation and gamma on my computer for a better picture quality. It was worse than this. Polaroids must die!!!
