I think 18in. would be ideal for the RX - largest I would go for. The pictures of RX's on http://www.rodmillenstore.com have 18's and it looks about right. In my opinion 7.5 inches would be a good width - 8 inches may be too wide and could require spacers. I like the wheel you have chosen, I like the look of a lip on a wider wheel.
Also, concerning the aspect ratio, i wouldn't worry too much with making the overall height of the tire/wheel combo a bit larger. Reason being is that the speedometer is off about 3mph (it reads slightly faster) and a larger size would even things out. You probably know more about this than I do, but if you need this web site will help.

I like the look of these below - they seem to fit the RX well - the michelin's do as well.

Wheels on my RX
I just put 18" Chrome TSW Revo's on my wife's RX - with 255/55/18 Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires. It drives quieter than my GS430, steers and handles like a dream - and looks tough. No spacers, they tuck perfectly and look excellent. (I surprised the rims in the attached photo's are 18's because my 18's look taller than the photo - I would argue that the taller tire is affecting accelleration though. It does take some of the zip out of the low end, but on the highway, it drives nice - and since it is my wife's kid hauler, she drives my car when she has a need for speed.
Hope this helps - if you want to see what the rims look like, go on discounttire.com and fit them on an RX. The only difference is mine are 18's and chrome.
Good Luck!
ps. while I was at it, I threw on a Rod Millen Grille, rear spoiler, and stainless exhaust. I don't think anyone will call it a minivan again!

mpconner, I would LOVE to see pictures - especially the exhaust. I have been thinking of getting the one from Rod Millen too. Also great to hear you found some 18' wheels that fit w/o spacers. Do you know the width of those TSW's? It all sounds great!
