Sorry, I don't know of any place to get a trailer hitch other than the dealer. I'm sure there are some. I have the one from the dealer and love the way it looks - fits great adn comes wired for a trailer and the plug is neatly tucked under the hitch. They also give you a cover for the hole that is rubber and has the Leuxs "L" on it. Probably costs more than most places, but you know it works right. Hope that helps some.

Thanks - I may try U-Haul - they'll do it for about $200 and have done a nice job in the past. The Lex one, I've heard is about $400...

Default Trailer Hitch DYI

That was the first thing I did to my RX. Here is my recommendation:

If you want to pull a light trailer and need the electrical connection for stop, turn and run lights, get the Lexus hitch as it comes with the electronic isolator and electrical connectors which need no splicing. You have to unbutton the rear paneling to reach the rear lights. (2hr project)

For other needs like carrying bikes etc buy Non Lexus hitches which are bolted on by 4 bolts (or was it six), where the hold down hooks are.

I found a site: bageco.com which has a class 2 hitch for $104 - looks like a good deal - I'll just get the wiring done somewhere else.

www.etrailer.com

For the RX300 they have four (4) trailer hitch options and prices are very reasonable.. I just bought one from there for my 1996 ES300. Yes, I said ES300. My RX has the factory hitch. I need to tow some stand up jet skis behind the ES.
