Searched just confirming (question on o2 sensor)
My 99 RX300 AWD with 90,600 miles just threw a check engine light.
OBDII scan threw just one code P0171 O2 sensor bank 1.
1. I took out the MAF and I noticed that it was dirty. Using carb cleaner I cleaned off all the carbon buildup and reset the ECU by removing the #13 fuse for 30 seconds. this got rid of the check engine light for about 50 miles and the check engine light returned.
this tells me that it's the o2 sensor has failed.
Questions
1. Can o2 sensors be cleaned and re-used? I am assuming that the o2 sensors fail because it gets gunked up with carbon buildup over the years and by cleaning it (much like the MAF sensors) it should be able to be reused. anyone try this?
2. Which sensor is the O2 sensor bank one? I know it's not the one on the exhaust manifold, this leads me to believe it's the one before the catalytic converter, not the one after the cat.
3. I have found the Bosch part number BSA 13333 (bank one o2 sensor) for $200. What is the best price anyone has found on this item?

Usualy the code will read 'bank one sensor one' or 'bank two sensor one'
Bank one is the rearward cylinder bank, bank two is the front bank.
Any code indicating 'sensor two' indicates the actual O2 sensor infront of the cat failed. Those are not nearly as common as the old 'bank one sensor one' code.
a factory Air Fuel ratio sensor goes 'around' $260 (89467-48011) Its not an oxygen sensor, its an expensive oxygen sensor that they renamed air fuel ratio.
I'd also like to take a minute and thank the Toyota gods for making both air fuel ratio sensors the same front and rear, as well as 99-03 RX production. Thank you.

Can I use Bosch 13333? it shows up as sensors on manifolds before the cat for the RX300
is there a less expensive way of procuring this part?
do you know what the dealers call this part?
