Send a PM next time.
The Turkish lift support struts still work well. Though they seem to get more stiff as the weather warms. Also they make some groaning sound about one out of 5 times.

[QUOTE=hermanrd;3450453Is there any problems with installation? rdon[/QUOTE]No real problem. I had a friend hold the hatch up. I seem some people used a stepladder or something to prop it up. The unsupported hatch is heavier than I expected. Make sure the ***** are securely in the sockets of the joints.

First and foremost, with three Lexus automobiles in the garage, this forum is an invaluable source of information. Our 02 RX300 with 125K miles developed a liftgate issue a few months ago. The liftgate would not stay up in cooler weather (under 50 degrees) and although I have a local Lexus-certified mechanic who offered to replace the lifts at dealer cost (~$165 installed), I decided to order a pair from Lou's. My order arrived promptly and 30 minutes later, the liftgate is as good as new. Definately a two person job, but very straightforward and easy to install. Mr. Lou's is the way to go!

Lou sent me a brand new set to replace the first set he sent to me. He also included a prepaid return sticker for the 1st set. Great customer service!
The 2nd set is a little better at lifting the hatch than the 1st set. However, it does not shoot up like some others have experienced. You have to give it a nudge to go all the way up. Perhaps this is due to having the oem spoiler and the hatch is heavier. Regardless, for $75 these are a great deal compared to spending $500 on oem ones. Recommmended.

Brand new to the forum. This is my first post.
As usual, these forums have lots of great info.
I ordered the struts from Lou' today and will give a review. I'm in Houston, so the weather's not an issue.

Same, I was looking for a replacement for OE since OE is so expensive. I see alot of you bought from liftsupportdepot...http://www.autopartsbylou.com/lift-s...=mmy&x=15&y=10
My question is ,
1. Which of these PN did you bought ?
Part#: 48100
Part#: 40652
(I will measure the OE, to see the exact measurement later).
2. Did it last long ? how long you have it since intalled ?
Thanks,
Mike

How is your install coming out? I'm going to order lift gate from "Lou" for my 2001 RX300 and going to do it your-self. Is it alright for weekend mechanic?

My supports from Lou are still working fine.
In doing some internet searching, it looks to me that Lou is a dealer for the StrongArm product and they appear to be one in the same product. (Look at AVR Industries LLC website).I can't say for sure though.

FedEx just dropped a pair of aftermarket liftgate struts over my wall, so I'll now take a peek to see about installation and function. These are from *********.com, about $63 with shipping,
