Default My RX300 w 18" Imola rims

Just got my new rims off of ebay. Silver Imola 18" with Mitch 235-55-R18 tires. I needed 1/4 inch spacers on the rear wheels and extended lug nuts (not studs) that go deeper into the rim hole. The RX lug nuts have washers and were not compatible anyway. The Imola rims are 18x8 with 40mm offset. The tires just rubbed without a spacer.

Looks great. Can you take a close up picture of the lug nuts? I want to see how far the extended lug nuts stick out and how much farther the rear rims stick out. I just got 18's too and used the stock washer/lug nuts without spacers in the rear:

Default Great look!

WOW!

Can't get over how nice the RX looks on 18's very classy -

Looks like car was designed to ride on 18's.

how's the speedometer given the fact that the 235/55-18's are smaller overall diameter?

My calculations show the following wheel & tire overall height in (mm)
225/70-16 (721.4)- stock setup
235/70-16 (735.4)- suggested by some members to be an alternative to stock tire size
235/55-18 (715.7)- your setup
235/60-18 (739.2)

Cheers,

Fern

A good site for tire calculations is: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

The 235 tires are .8% to fast. At 60 MPH on the spedo the actual speed is 59.5 MPH
A good rule is to keep the tires within 3% of the designed tire size.
