Default filtering atf is it ok ?

HI people,
my case. I bought my rx300 99. 93Kmiles 3 months ago
i bought the tranny filter and gasket.
i do not have historical fluids from it.
from the dipstick the color is light red. not chocolat
my planning is. to clear the pan, change the filter and wait until the mobiil 3309 arrive from USA (20 us$ for quart.
is it too bad idea, filter the oil (paper filter) if it is red light color and return to work
open to hear any opinion
thanks

If I'm understanding you correctly, you want to temporarily re-use your fluid after filtering it? I would be inclined to simply wait on all that work until the new fluid arrives, then change it out.

I dont see any critical need of replacing the fluid, so if I were you, I would simply wait.

Drained fluid can pick up contaminants and dust and generally I prefer filter in the new fluid. I have the screen type for the transmission.

I used to be able to get Toyota Type IV ATF from the Toyota dealers in Mexico for about $4.50 USD a quart, but when I wanted my favorite oil, Castrol 0W30, $30 USD a quart and only could get it through BMW dealers. Good fluid cost good bucks.
