Asked my dealer to turn off the chime and was told it's not possible as it's a safety feature

I got my RX in early Dec 2015, so I had almost a full winter of driving it last year, and the warning went off 4-6 times. This winter, it goes off most every day. Could be 40F sunny, and dry roads and it goes off.

Weird, mine only turns on if it hits exactly 37F.

Default Ding at 37 Degrees

It is that time of year when there are large fluctuations of temperature in and around 37 degrees. Every time the multi-function display reads 37 degrees there is this annoying ding. I am well aware of the potential for slippery road conditions. Is there any way to turn the ding off. I don't care if the display presents a message.

TIA
Mike

It's in the same category as seatbelt warnings and door ajar warnings -- you'll have to cut a wire to turn it off. Lexus is not going to get sued for failure to provide a freeze hazard warning.

And, does anyone know what wire that might be, for the freeze warning?

Mine doesn't do that. (2017 RX 350 base).

Interesting our 17 RX gives the ding but our 19 ES only displays an icon on the MID.

Cutting this off would also remove outside temperature display.

Default 2019 Climate Control Question.....

When I have the climate control set on recirculate, it automatically turns it off when that silly "The roads may be icy" thing pops up. Can this be turned off? I don't need schooled on why this is necessary, I understand moisture and cold windows fogging up. But I still want to turn this off, if possible.

Thanks!!

All I see are conversations about trying to turn off the icy road warnings, not about the climate control setting.
