Default Auto pilot?

When I put the Rx 350 2016 on cruise control it controls speed by controlling gas and break. But if I leave the steering wheel it also keeps the car in between lines (some times not always). I was wondering does it have the auto pilot?!!!
Also I realized even when I have my hand on steering wheel it trys to correct me.
So which mean the self drive technology is already there, is there a possibility to have it in future by software update?

Scary but I also saw that last week on a highway drive on my 7 day old car. I am not used to it, but would like to have some tension off my mind to try keeping in the lanes ...

It seems unlikely Lexus would do a software update and your car would auto pilot. If they did it would be an expensive update, many times more expensive than the over priced map update to the GPS.

The system has three different functions. Lane warning, lane keeping and dynamic cruise. Lane warning vibrates the streering wheel if you venture out of your lane without using your turn signal. Lane keeping watches the lines on both sides of your lane and attempts to keep the car between those lines by adjusting the steering wheel. Dynamic cruise tries to maintain the cruise speed you have set while also maintaining a user set distance from the vehicle in front of your car.

There is is also safety braking in potentially hazardous situations.

All these functions are clearly described in the hard copy or online manuals and really deserve a good read to understand how to set, adjust and operate them. And a lengthy visit with the technology advisor of your dealership is also well worth your time investment.

All these systems may not prevent accidents. Read that disclaimer in the manual too.
