Default AC is weak in 90+ days

90+ days finally come.

I set temp at 70 and drive in Normal mode and leave AC at automatic mode.
When the temp inside becomes stable, I can feel the heat from the massive dash and windshield scotching my face.

Looks like at auto mode. there are no vents to cool the massive dash and windshield area.

Is this normal?

Or is it because my car is a hybrid?

I am wondering how you people in FL and TX can live with the 16 RX.

I feel the same way. The windshield is so big on this car.

But a simple remedy, move the air vents toward your face. Problem is now solved.

In over 100 degree weather, even on high with the ac on I could feel the heat of the windshield. Then, I moved the vents toward my face and boom, much better.

I turn S-Flow off and get more air blowing out the front vents. It's puzzling to me!

SAME LOL.

But it's not THAT big of a difference. I think it increased the blower fan to bring air to the rears which makes it more in the front as well. It sounds louder too.

So the take away here is just adjust the system to suit your needs vs blindly relying on an auto setting.

If you turn on ECO mode for the driving mode, the AC output is reduced in this mode as well...

My experience is that S-Flow reduces overall cooling even to the front. I noticed the front vents run at lower cooling capacity with that dumb feature enabled.

You will get better overall cooling performance with it always disabled. I have started a new annoying habit of disabling it every time I get in the vehicle now. The Texas heat is a killer!

I never use Auto mode. It really does not know how to function properly. In Auto mode the air will only Blow in your face and never at your feet. Most of the time it will never blow air to the windshield unless you hit the defogger button. I just set the temp and air to blow to my face/feet and increase fan speed when i need more air and decrease when i get too cold. The human mind is the best Auto mode.

Putting the AC to recirculate mode helps make the cabin much cooler.

Recirculate removes humidity from the air in the cabin and helps a lot. Personally, I have yet to find a car that keeps me cool with the temp set at 70. I'm usually around 62-66.

Yea I have been struggling. Top of my head will be hot. Today I finally got the vents pointed at the right places. It's like you have to have a vent pointing towards the ceiling.

I've definitely had colder systems. Kinda disappointed. And I turned off Auto mode, set it to lowest setting and full blast. Doesn't help.

Car really struggles in traffic. Once moving it is better.

It's 110+ here in central CA and the RX350 AC works amazing... I start out at 68 and end up getting cold, having to turn it up to 70!

If you're hot, why don't you just turn the AC down and turn the fan speed up? It's not rocket science...
