Where do you keep your larger cell phones? The tiny compartment in front of the armrest compartment might hold an iphone 4/5, but that's without a case/cover. I'm always using the cup holder, but have to move it when using it as a cup holder.
Will an iphone 6/7 (or bigger plus) fit on the tray? Is it a better place than the area in front of the shifter?

I was planning on placing in in the cubby in front of the shifter on a qi charging pad. I have a Samsung Galaxy s7 edge and an iphone 5s. Popped my S7 in that cubby and it fit nicely.
Here are some pictures of an armrest storage organizer tray I bought from eBay. It is very useful because it doubles the space in that storage compartment and you can easily reach smaller items. It has 2 slots to allow easy access to the AUX, lighter plug and USB, it is made from high quality ABS plastic and it has 2 rubber liners with an integrated coin area.
The item arrived from Hong Kong in just 5 days even though the seller stated shipping would take 8 - 23 days.
Every 2016 Lexus RX should have come with this accessory from factory.
I bought it and ended up taking it out after few weeks. I find that since the tray occupies the whole area the volume below it is not easily accessible. Also, I had to disconnect my USB and power everytime I had to get something from below.
It would be nice if they made it two separate detachable pieces.
