Turn on/off Air Conditioner?
Is there a quick way to turn on or off the A/C aside from the front defroster button? Strange there is no hard button there. Its takes forever to go thru the NAV system.

There are shortcut icons to the far right of the screen. The air icon is the bottom one.
Once you click on the air icon, it will bring up the air option screen. From there, you can turn off the a/c.

Easy AC ON/AC OFF switch
I alluded to this under another post, but decided it needs it's own discussion. Sometimes I like the cold air from the A/C compressor and sometimes I want to keep the temperature low but not have the compressor (no A/C). In 40 years of driving, all my cars had an easy AC ON switch with a green light indicating the compressor would come on as needed. This RX does not seem to have that. And frankly I don't remember if my wife's 2015 RX has it (she's at work or I'd look).
What's the deal with this for both cars?

Your AC compressor only comes on when needed when you have the AUTO set to on and the temp inside the car is higher than the temp you have set.
On my 4RX when I push the OFF button next to the AUTO button, it locks out the AC compressor and yet still allows fresh air and heated air to move through the system. The 4RX will do the best it can to cool and heat without the AC compressor. If you want to enable the compressor again you just hit the AUTO button next the the OFF button.
Seems simple to me, like past Lexus I have owned.

I just leave mine in auto all of the time, so it isn't an issue for me, but it's frequently discussed here both in the RX and other model forums.
My '13 RX does not have a dedicated physical AC button, but my '14 IS did (though I never used it). My current '15 GS does not have one either.

Doesn't hitting OFF turn off the fan too? I don't want to stop the air flow, just no cold compressed air. And doesn't hitting AUTO crank up the fan? I want the fan to be where it was before...I don't want to have to hit the fan down buttons again to crank the fan back down.
Jeez, why not just have an AC ON/AC OFF switch like has been in cars for at least the 40 years I've been driving?

I suspect Lexus wants us to leave it in auto.
