Default Noise power rear cargo door

Anybody notice that the 4th generation RX power cargo door is more noise than the 3rd generation?

As long as it does what is is surprised to do and does not wake the dead, I am good with it.

We need some testing done, I think the 2016 is slower. Plus I miss the ability to just slam the door shut.

Need some measurements or it is just bunk reporting.

It seems faster to me, but I definitely miss the ability to manually shut it.

Are we down to actually timing the speed?

Really?

Yes, its a lot noisier. No perception of speed difference than my 2013 RX. The noise is quite dumb though, but wont bother me...

Yup. Its important since the idea of the rear power door is to be as convenient as say opening a regular gas strut door which basically opens in no time.

If I have a power door, and I have a bunch of heavy items I want to unload them asap into the rear. If the power door takes an eternity to go up I`ll just take the non-power option lol

That is funny!

Sometimes you are so entertaining! It makes it worth coming here!

There a safety factor here and you know that Lexus is going to error on the side of safety. Imagine if the door opened or closed in only a second! LOL!

So, has anyone had much luck with the touchless opening? You are supposed to be able to wave your hand or elbow over the rear emblem and have it open. It only works very occasionally for me and I have to really work at it. What is the trick?

Put your hand or elbow, without waving, on the upper portion of the emblem for about 2 seconds. Works well for me 99.9% of the times.

I love coming here to, thankfully I love the ignore list feature more :P

Have you ever had a non-power door open in a second? LOL Unless your tripping on something nope. The suggestion is that it should open a bit faster, and its not a bad suggestion. If you can control the gate height, one can probably program the speed of opening as well reasonably.

In regards to the noise problem, just like your pulsing deal, I would inform Lexus as well and see if their are any TSBs of such.

Yep, like Kenforum said, forget the waving and just hold your hand in front of the Lexus emblem and it will open every time.
