Default Remote Start and Body Side Moldings

I am getting close to trading my 2009 LS for a 2016RX. I have two more questions and one complaint. Thank you all for your replies to my other inquires so far.

1. What's the deal with the remote start? I understand it works through Iphone (I have one, no problem) and is free for the first year. What's the absolute minimum cost going to be to me to maintain this service in future years? Truthfully I only need it from November through March! Can I go on-again/off-again and just pay for the months needed? I know that if you can afford a new Lexus, you can afford the service. But I am cheap at heart and it galls me to have to pay for this service month in and month out for as long as I own the car.

1a. Is this service available on my wife's 2015 RX350? Looks like I'll be driving the 2016 and she'll be driving the 2015.

1b. What else to you get, besides remote start, for this monthly fee?

2. What about body side moldings? We added them to our 2015 and I think it looks better (I know, many disagree). And it provides SOME (but not complete) ding protection to the actual door. Are such moldings available for the 2016? What do they look like? I have not seen them on any vehicles or in any photos.

3. Complaint: Exactly like Gen3 RX, you have to toggle through the menu to to turn OFF the dual temperature thingie. Why didn't they "fix" that with the 2016? A simple "Dual off" switch right on the dash would be wonderful. Why did they carry over this obvious Rube Goldberg issue?

RogueRX, thanks for the photo. Based on that, I think I WILL have them installed if/when I buy the vehicle. About $250??

You did a good job. I'm not sure I'd trust myself to do the same and it's worth $100 to pay a professional. But thank you very much for the photo and info.

Yes, $219.95 year ($18.33 month) is the minimum for Enform Remote. It does include Service Connect and Safety Connect in the price though. I wouldn't be without Safety Connect IMO. So far I'm really liking the Enform Remote, although turned off the e-mail alert feature which was kind of annoying.

They look good! Did you mount using 3M mounting tape or something else? How did you determine where they should go?

I like your placement I also ordered for mine if you don't mind me asking how many inches up is it from that first body line below it? 5 inches?

The body side moldings came with specific instructions (measurements and placement) from Lexus on how to install them. Adhesive tape is already pre-installed on all of the moldings and you just have to peel the covering. You will need painter's tape to mark your measurements. It took me about an hour to install both sides.
