I don't think they change the amplifier from year to year. I want to replace the stock speaker just want to make sure getting the right ohm. According to the 2015 amp all speaker are 4ohm except the center is 6ohm and the sub is 2ohm

As far as ML system the amplifier is stronger and more speaker but as far as ohm is the same. I'm thinking to swap out the 3 dash speakers to JL 3.5in coax and go from there. I already add a subwoofer in the back and the sound is pretty good just need to improve the front.

I plan on adding a sub or swapping out the 8 inch sub with my own JL 10 inch..
Not sure if this is a good idea or not. Or if it is even possible. The ML has amazing clarity but needs a little more low end for my taste.
Do you have a seperate amp for your sub or it looks like you just replaced the whole thing?

The locations are the same, no?
EDIT: there are speakers located on the rear back pillars not on the stock system.
The specs for them may be different also.
Maybe they can send you a PDF of the ML system also?

I run a Audio control LC2I of from the sub in the trunk then feed the signal to a Pioneer TSSWX2502. I chose this sub since it's the most compact power sub and has good review. Depend on your taste of music if you like hip hop, dub step and rap go with the 12" model. I listen to the 80's music new wave, syn pop and new age. The whole project cost around $200...

I talk to the installer regarding the spare tired sub and he say u need to drill hole to the panel so the sound can go through otherwise it doesn't help much.

Here are the speaker in the front dash. The one on the right is a tweeter with a capacitor and the left one is the center channel mid bass. So the configuration of the front dash is tweeter L x center mid bass x tweeter R
