Are you assuming new 2016 RX owners would know where the amp is located?

I don't think they change the amplifier from year to year. I want to replace the stock speaker just want to make sure getting the right ohm. According to the 2015 amp all speaker are 4ohm except the center is 6ohm and the sub is 2ohm

WOW. Thanks man. I always wondered how we could get this.

Do you know if this would be the same for the ML systems?

As far as ML system the amplifier is stronger and more speaker but as far as ohm is the same. I'm thinking to swap out the 3 dash speakers to JL 3.5in coax and go from there. I already add a subwoofer in the back and the sound is pretty good just need to improve the front.

beautiful.. why weren't we friend's before?

I plan on adding a sub or swapping out the 8 inch sub with my own JL 10 inch..

Not sure if this is a good idea or not. Or if it is even possible. The ML has amazing clarity but needs a little more low end for my taste.

Do you have a seperate amp for your sub or it looks like you just replaced the whole thing?

More speakers where?
The locations are the same, no?

EDIT: there are speakers located on the rear back pillars not on the stock system.
The specs for them may be different also.
Maybe they can send you a PDF of the ML system also?

The ML system have 2 additional speakers in the trunk area. Aznkorboi thread has a diagram of the ML system.

No I just add the power sub. To change all the speaker then you need to change the OEM amplifier then it's more complicate. I wait until somebody make the harness that they can by pass the OEM amplifier but still keep all the function like voice activate, gsp guidance....etc then I will change everything to Focal

I run a Audio control LC2I of from the sub in the trunk then feed the signal to a Pioneer TSSWX2502. I chose this sub since it's the most compact power sub and has good review. Depend on your taste of music if you like hip hop, dub step and rap go with the 12" model. I listen to the 80's music new wave, syn pop and new age. The whole project cost around $200...

Pioneer also makes a powered sub that fits in the spare.
Only available in Europe as far as I can see.

I don't think you lose the spare since it is made to go in the spare recess area.

Here is a pic to show what I mean. (not my car I just searched for an image)

But I'm betting yours sound better.

I talk to the installer regarding the spare tired sub and he say u need to drill hole to the panel so the sound can go through otherwise it doesn't help much.

Here are the speaker in the front dash. The one on the right is a tweeter with a capacitor and the left one is the center channel mid bass. So the configuration of the front dash is tweeter L x center mid bass x tweeter R
