Default Question about the 4RX handsfree sytem with my iPhone

I have a 6S+ iPhone paired with my 4RX and the handsfree phone system works better than I could ever expect.

My problem is when I get a text, my phone is not sounding any notification and I am missing texts messages. The second I kill blue tooth the text notification sounds start again on my iPhone.

Am I missing a setting that will UN-silence my notifications for my texts. Works fine when I get a phone call but not a peep out of my phone when a text message is received.

I would be grateful for any assistance.

Go into SETTINGS/BLUETOOTH then tap on the blue i with circle around it next to your RX Bluetooth. Turn slider on for Show Notification. You can also turn on Sync Contacts too if you wish.

On your phone, go to Setting>Bluetooth, you'll see "Lexus RX". Click the i with the circle around it. Turn on "Show notifications". This will allow the texts to come through the car itself. And it will read them to you. The car will need to be restarted after changing this so the car can see the change. Or you can turn Bluetooth off then on. Basically the connection needs to be refreshed.

After that you should be able to get your text read by the RX.

(at least that how it works on my Android Nexus 6)

So this would allow my phone to go back to sounding notifications? Or will the notification come through the the RX hands free speaker?

You people are the best!

On mine it comes through the RX system. (and it reads the texts if I want out loud)
But I have an Android so I can't verify if it is the same on an iPhone.

Thanks very much. Reading texts are not as important as knowing that I have one. But then it reading my texts would be rather nice. According to the Lexus stuff it is supposed to do it for both Android and Apple.

Thanks for you help.

You can also have it answer back for you with its built in responses.

Even if so, I am not giving up my iPhone for an Android device.

Siri regularly composes and sends texts for me without touching my iPhone.
