Tried looking online but it's been difficult. Maybe someone with experience can chime in.

Looking to buy the 2016 RX but I was wondering where I should buy it.

Planning on moving to San Antonio, TX and was wondering if its worth it to buy the car in CA and have a truck drive it over or buy it in Texas with lower tax ?

I was going to check the Fremont Lexus for the Costco pricing but I've seen some people get $1000 under what dealer paid.

I just want to know which is cheaper, buying in Texas or CA?

I can give a little info from TX.
Loaded RX ( luxury package, ML Nav, safety package with triple beam headlights.) going for 58,905 in Houston. Tax is 8.25. May be possible to get 1-3 K discount at some dealers.

The new automobile sales tax in Texas is 6.25% anywhere in the state and does not change due to municipality (the 8.25% quoted earlier is the local sales tax for the Houston area and is independent of the vehicle sales tax rate). That tax is levied on the sale price of the car minus any trade-in allowances.

If you bring the car in from out of state there is a flat rate tax of $90.

You all are welcome! I would go with buying it in Texas. Taxes are low in these parts ( lol) and you will save the expense of having the car shipped. Good luck with whatever you ultimately choose and welcome to the Lone Star State ⭐

I heard from people that only CA offers a fully loaded RX?

As in, all the safety options, HUD display, F sport, Triple Beam, Mark Levinson, Heated Steering wheel, Pano roof.

This can't be true can it?

Excited but scared to live in Texas haha. We drove from CA to San Antonio and we might have to do it again since we don't want to fly with our Golden Retriever.

Wasn't looking too close at all the options on each RX, but some were very loaded. Saw 2 with the triple LED, several with the 12" screen. 1 F Sport and 1 luxury with Pano Roofs. Lots of options all around.

You can get all those options in TX with the 350. The F sport does not have the Luxury package option. It's my understanding that this is true nation wide.

Haha. Great. Yeah, that's good then. So.. is it true about the weather in Texas? Floods, hurricanes? When we stayed there for a month, all we saw was huge pick up trucks with large wheels and those crazy metal cages (ranch hand?) that covers their bumpers and lights.

Do we have to get something like that for our baby? And will all this craziness ruin the safety features of the RX?

Lived in ca my whole life so anything outside is new territory for me.

I must say, drivers in texas are alot more "relaxed" then in sunny so-cal. haha.

Work is in Leon Valley area, close to the 10.

Does anyone have any input on places to live that is safe, convenient, not too much traffic? We stayed at a hotel near La Cantera and that area is nice, like california, but wider.
