I definitely am going to want to upgrade mine. Then again, I am probably the exact audience that Lexus is looking for for the new styling. I'm young-ish (26) -- well, probably fairly young for a Lexus buyer and I like the sporty look.
Probably won't get to get one prior to 3-6 mos before my lease end in late 2017/early 2018 though. I picked up a '15 3RX on lease and with the combination of the fact I didn't put much down on it, the resale value, and how much it sold for originally - I can't imagine the opportunity for a dealer to get me out of this car early without paying for it somewhere else to get the 4RX. If they make me an offer I can't refuse, then maybe that will be a different story. Had a terrible experience with Infiniti, so I leased to see if I would like the Lexus. So far, so good. Will probably purchase my 4RX since I can't imagine them offering TX tax credits on one of their best selling vehicles next go around.

Considering to replace my aging 01 GS430. Now with 2 kids and strollers, I need to have 3rd row seating and seriously considering the Honda Pilot with usable 3rd row seating. Lexus, please make this happen...

Still not fond of the big grill, however, the availability of AVS is a big plus for me. I drove my wife's 2013 RX on a long road trip in June and liked everything about that car except the snappy ride. It was a much better highway car than I imagined and around town, way superior to my LX. I am hoping for the best of both in the 2016 RX. It looks like AWD is also an available option. Any advice on the desirability of this feature?

I had a patient come in with a new Highlander. I'm guessing the 4RX is based on that because it also had that cheap black plastic around the wheel well. The rest of the vehicle looked pretty nice except for that. Also, is the 4RX shorter than the current Highlander? If not, why can't a 4RX get a 3rd row in there if the Highlander can?

The new RX, at 192.5 inches, is 1.5 inches longer than the current Highlander (191").
I'm guessing they've given the RX rear seat passengers a bit more room than in the Highlander, reducing available room for a third row. Perhaps more importantly, the forward sloping rear window of the RX would drastically cut into the headroom of third row passengers.
You can see the difference below:

My current 3RX ride is definitely more bumpy compared to my earlier Toyota Harrier ( aka Lexus 2RX) and has a fair bit of sidewards sway movement. Hopefully the AVS and the adaptive suspension settings on the F Sport will rectify this problem. However i am skeptical about the ride comfort based on the 20in wheels as i currently experience a stiff ride on my other car, a 2013 Infiniti FX37 with 20in wheels though that car is set up with a much stiffer suspension set up compared to my 3RX.

I am in the same boat as a lot of you; My wife drives a '14 RX350 and I have a '13 IS-F. Both absolutely great cars, even though they are complete opposite vehicles.
The Lexus quality and ownership experience will keep me as a customer for a long while. Plus I'm really liking where Lexus is going with their new corporate design structure. I think the '16 RX is great looking, and I love the interior, which is honestly the selling point for us. The '14 interior is nice, very comfortable and quiet, but it feels dated compared to other '14 luxury SUV's out there. The '16 is very nicely updated, has a lot of great tech features with a little bit of attitude mixed in.
Can't wait to drive one!

I would buy this new Lexus RX despite it having such a polarizing exterior. I am sure it will grow on me. My main priority is reliability and I am sure this new generation will not let me down. I love the fact that this new rx has a really nice interior now especially that huge 12inch screen and interior design. I have always liked the nav screens on the newer BMWs and this car is no exception. For crossovers this big it should have a navi screen this big.
Here are my thoughts....everytime a manufactuer designs something that is very different people tend to be very negative of it because they are just use to the old trends. But every time this happends people eventually accept these design changes and it will become mainstream. Just like when cars were all square boxes in the 70s and 80s when manufactuers started to make cars more round and curvy people didnt like that either. And look at now in 2016 those curvy cars sell like hotcakes and cars that still trend toward square rots in the dealership lots. Till this day my dad who is 65 years old still thinks El Caminos and El Dorado are much nicer looking than any modern 2016 car.
People said the same thing about how ugly the trapazoid grill the Audis have when they first appeard. But look at them now people consider that attractive now. So i am going to buy the RX anyways because I am forward thinking and feel that this is the future!

Very well said. Anybody remember when the Ford Taurus came out? Its design was polarizing, and "revolutionary". Today its quite plain:
