Nothing is wrong with that. In my situation and if the 2016 is just as soccer mom-ish, it would lead me elsewhere.
Is this new info?: Toyota offers new safety package on RAV4, Lexus RX

About time they add direct injection to both their FWD 300h and FWD 450h offerings. It'll take them minimal effort to convert their longitudinal counterparts to transverse ones. Wonder what takes them so long.

Re-posting a summary of my January speculation and others in this thread:
My engine speculation is that we're looking at a 2GR block in the US:
RX350: 2GR-FSE with VVT-iW and D4S
RX450h: 2GR-FXE with VVT-iE or VVT-i and possibly D4S
Here's what Lexus may (or may not) bring to the table:
My engine speculation is that we're looking at a 2GR block in the US:
RX350: 2GR-FSE with VVT-iW and D4S
RX450h: 2GR-FXE with VVT-iE or VVT-i and possibly D4S
- VVT-iW will be borrowed from the NX200t 8AR-FTS and will enable otto/atkinson switching in the 350.
- VVT-iE - the iE may be new to the 450h and will be atkinson only as it will be fuel economy focused. NX300h 2AR-FXE only has VVT-i.
- S may be new to the 350 and will introduce the swirl intake as done in the NX200t. New Tacoma 2GR-FSE has the S. NX300h does not have an S.
- SE could also mean D-4 Gasoline direct injection and represent D4-S
- Hybrid powertrain improvements borrowed from 4th Generation Prius via better (li-ion?) batteries and denser motors
Here's what Lexus may (or may not) bring to the table:
- Weight loss
- New engine with D4S with atkinson/otto switching
- Panoramic sunroof
- Color HUD
- i-AFS - the return of swiveling, tilting headlamps
- CarPlay - unlikely
- Electronic parking brake
- 360 camera
- 450h: Available US F-Sport package or appearance package
- 450h: New hybrid powertrain

If they could already achieved 30mpg combined on the current 450h without DI or other fancy engine tech that has already been out for years, then they could save it for the next generation to achieve even higher gains

So expect 10% better hp/torque throughout the rev range, not just at top, plus 10-15% better mpg in real life (for 350).
