Hi,

i have started to notice a low humming/buzzing noise comming from under rear seats - i guess middle seat.
Mostly noticable when the car is in idle-if just battery is working than no noise at all. Also noticed, that this sound is comming like something. Also noticed that sound is comming just before the petrol engine starts workig and usually it dissapears after a while but coming back somethimes during driving when throtleing.
nosie is not noticable from outside but worst from sitting on the rear seats.
any idea?

First guess would be electric fuel pump.Don't know the age of your car but over time they occasionally need replacing. Older model cars would have a sock around the fuel pump as a primary filter. Might be accessible through a hatch in the floor pan otherwise the tank has to come out.

I am guessing the same thing too. One thing I learned years ago was on cars with the in-tank fuel pumps to not routinely run the fuel tank low below a quarter tank. The fuel pump in the tank is immersed into the fuel and keeps it cool. Running the fuel low partially exposes the pump and allows them to run hot and prematurely fail.

Thank you guys! The car is from 2012 and has 40.000mi.
i will take to dealer on 2nd of March-really hope that it will not broke down as i still need to drive like 1.000 mi...
