Default Just bought. Good buy?

Hi, all. Last week I bought a 2010 RX 350 from my local Lexus dealership for roughly $17,000. It has 91,000 miles on it. It comes with every package add-on from that year offered (except that little blinking light in the side mirrors), and they all work just fine. It was serviced all at the same dealership, with complete service/maint history. They put new tires/rims on there for me, tinted the two front windows, and made sure everything was in working order.

I am rebuilding my credit from a divorce, so this was pretty much my only option with Lexus. I previously had a 1998 ES 300 with 160,000 miles, put a new transmission in it, and it works wonderfully. So my question is: was this a good buy? Are there any 2010 RX owners on here that can vouch for the good quality and longevity of this car?

sunset7766, congrats on your RX. I can't speak about the price. Blind spot monitor wasn't added until 2013 so you didn't miss out on that. As far as longevity, take a look at this thread. With all service records and new tires (hopefully good ones), you did very good. Make sure you post some pics of your 350 over here. It's mandatory And enjoy it.

Back in August, I bought my '10 RX450h for a little under $23K with 72k miles, and it did not have ALL options. Since I was seeing the RX350's running almost the same prices as the 450h's, I think you got a good deal.

That's good to hear, thank you! Now don't get me wrong, with my awful credit I will be paying an additional 4K by the time this loan is paid.

Yes! That thread was an aid in helping me decide to get this car. It's been hard saying goodbye to my '98 ES 300, but knowing I'm getting into an as reliable situation means a great deal to me.

Does it have the Mark Levinson and the Radar Cruise? If so, VERY nice job!

Congrats on the RX, it seems like you got a good deal. IMO, at this point after all you have been through (divorce), good deal or not, as long as you're happy with it that's all that matters..

Now go and enjoy it..

Those are good questions... and I don't know the answers! I wouldn't even know how to find out! I haven't used cruise control yet. Would the sound system name be prominently displayed (and I just haven't noticed)?

I am excited to own it. I am containing the excitement, though, because I want to be sure I'm in a good situation. And so far it sounds like I made the right choice with this car, which is making me all giddy.

ML name will be on the radio face plate. The distance button for dynamic radar cruise control (DRCC) is underneath the toggle one to change s few settings (like Eco mode on/off) on the right side of steering wheel.

Pretty soon the ES will be a distant memory

I can't locate the sound system name or the DRCC, I guess my car doesn't have it. Still a good buy even without those??

Try not to focus on the price. It's more important that you're happy. And you did get an RX with all records and a few extras thrown in. The new tires and rims, not cheap! As far as ML, it's ok but lacks bass. DRCC, well, I rarely used it. And just to clarify, eco mode can only be turned on and off on the 450h. Sorry, it's about the only time I used the toggle switch on the steering wheel.

Your comments are good to read, thank you for them. I am happy with this purchase. Still, it being a huge step for me financially I am more of the "cautiously optimistic" demeanor. Every Lexus owner I talk to says I snagged an excellent car. And that's the bottom line for me: making sure I got into an excellent car, just like I was with my old ES. Thanks again!

I'm also cautious with purchases, especially big ones. But then I remember what a dear friend told me after I picked up my first RX which was a bit more than I wanted to spend. He said "with quality you only cry once." I'm happy to say I've had no regrets. Plus i put my hand over the final price when signing on the dotted line. That helps too
