2012 RX350 Speaker Wiring Information/Diagram
Trying to install a Line Out Convertor (LOC) for a new amp/subwoofer in a 2012 RX350. However, unable to find the speaker wiring information or diagram for the 9 speaker configuration (premium system only - I do not have the Mark Levison system). Thus, does anyone know the speaker wire colors for the rear left and right speakers. Basically need the following information.
Rear left positive speaker wire color = ?
Rear left negative speaker wire color = ?
Rear right positive speaker wire color = ?
Rear right negative speaker wire color = ?
Rear left positive speaker wire color = ?
Rear left negative speaker wire color = ?
Rear right positive speaker wire color = ?
Rear right negative speaker wire color = ?

Welcome to CL. This may have been covered before, either here or in the audio/electronics forum (look for it). You should use the search feature and hunt around.

Thanks for the help.
I searched a number of forums and was not able to locate the speak wiring information for the 2012 RX350. I also decided to connect the LC2i to the front door woofers. Therefore, I removed the front door panels and was able to see that the wiring for the both front door woofers was the same. The Black wire was "+" and the Yellow was "-" (used the battery test to make sure).
I made all the LCi2 and amp connections and the subwoofer is working well.

Three Speaker Front Door Component Set-up
I have seen on line where owners have replaced the 6 by 9 factory front door speakers with 6 1/2” dia 2 way speakers. A popular speaker is the JL C-650x .
Here’s some questions I have:
Why not just replace it with 6 by 9-2 way?
Does the 2-way speaker effect the mid/ tweeder setup?
Does the factory speaker set-up in the front doors have a crossover?
lf you’ve done this modification:
What speakers did you install?
Was it worth the effort?

When it warms up, I hope to spend some time experimenting. One thought I have is to disconnect the rear door speakers, so the rear fade would be a sort of subwoofer "volume control." In other words, if one wants more subwoofer, adjust the fader more to the rear.
The 6x9's in the stock setup put out quite a bit of bass; I cannot even hear the subwoofer when sitting in the front seat unless I run the fader way to the back. Thus, the reasoning to change out the 6x9's. I have some nice Boston 5.25" coaxials (just sitting in the closet) I'm thinking to try in the front as well. I plan to experiment also with disconnecting the center speaker and even the front door tweeter & mid, especially if a two-way coaxial in the front plays those frequencies.
There are some threads here on putting in a nice powered subwoofer; more than I want to get in to.
The question is always how much time & money to make you (or I) happy...how deep down the "rabbit hole" do you want to go...

That’s the YouTube that got me thinking, too! Yah, I wonder how a 2-way woofer will effect the the mid & tweeder speakers. As you said the factory 6x9 is heavy on the bass & weak in the mid range. The 61/2’s would be more in the higher register, letting the rear sub be more pronounced.

We have the question of whether the front woofer gets the full frequency signal (we did not get any answers in the audio subforum):
Removing Factory Tweeter And Crossover To Install Coaxial Aftermarket Speakers - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion
If so, one could keep or disconnect the mid & tweeter. The guy in the video was content and found improvement by just swapping the speakers; no other changes. He does have another video about tearing into his subwoofer; he said in a comment that simply replacing it did not change or improve anything. Reading between the lines, it seems he wanted more sub. That might help explain the threads here where people have installed nice, powered subs.
I'm thinking about just a basic 2.1 system, and to try and use the factory subwoofer (it is 8"). There are some audiophiles that argue for this type; it certainly is the "easiest" in some ways...but is it adequate is the debate and is subjective as well.

...Another something to try would be to just replace the factory 6x9 woofer with a good quality 6x9 coaxial speaker. I was looking around on the Crutchfield site; so many choices. The JL Audio has good reviews; I am curious about the Morel. Kicker seems to be known for a strong bass & the "thump," Focal for a strong tweeter & "bright." The Boston I have in storage have good mids, and Bose are heavy on the mids too (strong mid is a sound that I generally like). Audiophiles say "no highs, no lows, must be Bose." Of course, sound is subjective, and the type of music one listens to is also a big factor.
Even with the virtual sound listening on the Crutchfield website, the true test is when they are installed in one's vehicle...so many variables..!
